The age-old questions.

Are you an Oracle, Psychic or Medium?

Are they the same or are they different?

There has always been confusion around which is which throughout all of time and from what we can tell from history is that, although the 3 can have similarities, there seems to be some basic differences, according to historical and modern records.

Historical Overview :

• The Oracle

  • A person to whom The Divine connects and communicates through, an Oracle, who sometimes is known to in the past, deliver prophecies to the people from the Divine. The Divine was typically referred to as Gods/Goddesses, Angels/ArchAngels, and so on. An Oracle was often a High Priestess and utilized different forms of scrying tools and techniques to connect and receive some messages. An Oracle was also known as a "seer". An Oracle was said to use tools such as a bowl or container of water, objects with a mirror-like shiny surface like a piece of polished obsidian; in which they saw images appear.

    
    

• The Psychic

  • A person who communicates with and/or reads for the living people in the here-n-now, who are seeking insight into their lives or have a question they are searching answers for in life. A psychic was known to be able to cold-read another person by simply being in that person's presence then reading their energy or aura etc., and/or sometimes utilize tools such as Tarot Cards or Runes and so on, to read for the person in front of them, to gain insight into their lives. A Psychic was also known to work with the senses - Sight, Sound, Touch, Taste, Smell and what was called the 6th sense of simply knowing, with abilities which covers intuition, telepathy, or clairvoyance. The main focus of a Psychic was messages for career, relationships and personal matters for the person seeking insight/answers.

    
    

• The Medium

  • A person that communicates with and for the dead; that is people who have passed away & are now in the spirit realm. A Medium brings through and can pass on messages from the other side. A Medium was sometimes seen as a Channelle for the dead to communicate with the living, often so they could pass on messages of reassurances, or things they never got the opportunity to say while they were alive. Occasionally, a Medium might have used tools, such as an item that belonged to the person that had passed over, to strengthen the connection for clearer messages.

Historical Summary :

All 3 Spiritual workers, from time to time, may have used tools to aid their connections to a Wisdom that was not theirs, but from other sources. All 3 Spiritual workers had an energetic connection to receive messages from or through, so as to pass on to whomever needed to hear the message.

An Oracle was like a channel for divine wisdom.

A Psychic was like a guide for your personal journey.

A Medium was like a telephone line to the realm of the dead.

In the very beginning, Spiritual workers were considered a sacred part of a community and were treated with respect and gratitude. It was believed that you were born into your abilities, and you were considered one or another of these Spiritual workers, an Oracle or a Psychic or a Medium.

There were times in history though, like in times of strong Christianity, that these Spiritual workers were said to be evil witches and were indeed hunted down and killed for delving into such mischiefs. So, most of them went into hiding and only connected with their abilities in secrecy, where they then passed on their skills by teaching the next set of generations.

Modern Evolution :

Things are pretty much the same as when it was in the beginning, however, it is more widely accepted in the Modern world and many people reach out for any or all 3 of the Spiritual workers, the Oracle, the Psychic, the Medium, with the respect and gratitude like old times.

The Modern world does still harbour some of the wounds from history, by way of sceptics and criticism from non-believers. But at least they do not hunt and kill us these days. Well, in most parts of the world. There always have been sceptics and non-believers; there always will be. However, we all have evolved and learnt to live with each-other.

In today's time, yes, they still say that the strongest Oracles/Psychics/Mediums, are born into their abilities. Some say that everyone is born with abilities, but some never tune in to this path and instead they follow life wherever it leads them. Many consider that you can learn to connect and attune to the abilities of whichever Spiritual skill you feel drawn to. It seems to all come down to what you believe in along with what's in your heart and soul.

The abilities, skills and tools of all Spiritual workers have expanded and evolved in the Modern world. We still work with everything that was in the very beginning, but learnt and attuned to even more as we discovered many new ways to connect to a Wisdom that is beyond our knowledge.

These days, many Spiritual workers are not restricted by being labelled as one type or another, being either an Oracle or a Psychic or a Medium. Instead, they may refer to themselves as being drawn to one type in particular, but actually work a little with all 3 types. They may have a stronger connection with the abilities of one, which may be enhanced by another type.

It is not necessarily a path that is chosen by everyone to follow and/or work with. It is a path that requires passion, belief and resilience; trust, courage and open-mindedness. Most commonly, the path always finds the person who is ready to embrace it and follow this destiny. This person may have been born with their abilities without even knowing, but yet had a loud and strong calling to this path. It is something that you strongly feel the connection to with every part of your entire being.
